Someone get me a Savannah Cat.
The last time I was out somewhere and I mentioned a cat that’s the size of a small dog and is playful and junk like other dogs, people were like “ewww that’s creepy.”  How is that creepy?  That’s fucking awesome!  Take all the good stuff about cats (independent, poops in a box, cleans itself, generally quiet), cancel all the bad stuff (shitty personality like...

#ThatAwkwardMomentWhen someone follows you...and...
This frequently happens to me for one of 2 reasons: Some homo reblogs a picture of a hot guy I posted and is like “oh look at all these semi-naked men.”  Then he discovers how much I hate Lady Gaga. Some colored person sees something reflective or otherwise interesting I wrote about race.  Then s/he discovers I’m an atheist. Or maybe they were expecting n00dz.

BHM Day Eighteen: Jennifer Jackson, the first...
(Previously in black history.) In 1964, Jennifer Jackson, a college student and part-time model, was working as one of only two black Bunnies at the Playboy Club in Chicago.  Photographer Pompeo Posar visited the club one day, spotted Jackson, and approached her about being a Playmate of the Month in the magazine.  Initially, Jackson had reservations, but Posar had caught her in a weak moment:...

John Stockton Shorts
I accidentally fell into a Wikipedia Hole last night when I realized Christian Laettner was the only dude on the original Dream Team not to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as an individual.  Poor guy. But more importantly, I discovered that John Stockton was the last guy in the NBA to rock the short shorts…all the way through his final season in 2003.            …Stockton is the...

Brandy & Monica “It All Belongs To Me” (Live on Jay Leno) I love how much Brandy’s voice has grown and she really does get more beautiful with every year.  They really ate this up last night.  Now I just need a video and my February is all set.

The performances that should've been on the...
Grammy Week is a big deal out in LA.  Everybody throws a party and invites all of the industry insiders to drink and have a good time.  And people perform.  These are clips of the performances you didn’t get to see.  Watch Keke Wyatt and Faith Evans throw down like they’re still actually famous.  And a clip of Brandy & Monica rehearsing their classic duet. Faith Evans Faith is...

RAMI YOU BEAUTIFUL MAN YOU! I can’t even… This is complete bullshit.  And not just because he’s the sexiest man on reality television.  He obviously should have been in the finals.  Kara is still there?  Are you serious?  OMG KENLEY???  She basically makes the same shit every week.  MICHAEL COSTELLO and his fakely-overdramatic facial expressions to everything?  Calm your tits...

BHM Day Sixteen: The Negro Motorist Green Book
(Previously in black history.) Published between 1936 and 1964, The Green Book served as a tool for blacks participating in America’s early car culture to guide them safely in their travels throughout the country. Victor H. Green was born in New York City in 1892, and he began to collect information on NYC businesses receptive to black travelers after going to work for the Post Office in...

The real facts about flying the flag at half-mast.
Chris Christie is taking all kinds of flack for directing government buildings to fly the flag at half-mast for Whitney Houston.  Whether you agree or disagree, please have the facts and good sense to be able to back your position.  These are some of the things I’ve seen people throwing around on the Internet. We only fly the flag at half-mast for soldiers!  This is disrespectful! No,...

BHM Day Fifteen: The Negro National Anthem
(Previously in black history.) In 1900, James Wheldon Johnson was principal of The Stanton School, the first school for black children in Jacksonville, FL.  Today, it serves academically gifted students grades 9-12, but in 1900 it was a segregated elementary school.  Johnson wrote the poem “Lift Every Voice And Sing” for his children to perform in honor of Lincoln’s birthday....

Adele is taking a five year break from music.
This was the accompanying comment by my friend who posted the article: Oh ok Rude-y Tuesday.  It’s really not her responsibility to just keep cranking out records for you. Let’s see, you’ve broken countless records, won six Grammy’s, released two multi-platinum albums about how much your love life sucks, and had surgery to fix your vocal chords.  And now you’re...

koalainchicago replied to your post: I didn’t find any cute underwear. I tried telling someone the other day it was sexy enough for him to go commando~ But I’ve seen him naked, so maybe I’m bias. Ew were you having gay sex?  That’s not very pure.

I didn't find any cute underwear.
But I did make that cheesecake, and it’s fucking delicious if I do say so myself. So my Valentine should be happy with that. Plus: free-ballin is always cute underwear.

You’re in US History class at the buttcrack of dawn, basically half-asleep, when Mrs. McKnight and policemen in battlegear drag you out of class because a package has arrived for you and it’s ticking. So you walk all the way outside, way deep into the parking lot away from any buildings and they tell you to open it. It’s ticking, the police have on bomb gear, so obviously they...

BHM Day Fourteen: John Casor, America's First...
(Previously in black history.) This legal document dating back to August 1670 comes from Virginia where the courts ruled that lands belonging to newly-deceased Anthony Johnson should rightfully be reverted back to England.  Johnson was of African descent, and according to English law, would always be legally an alien.  In light of his death, the lands should go to England, not his family.   ...

Have you ever listened to a Whitney Houston album?
They’re (honestly) not that great. That’s how you know she could sang, because you are sitting there listening to really medium-ish music that sounds like the best thing ever because of that Voice. That’s a talent.

BHM Day Thirteen: Whitney Houston.
(previously in Black History) This has to be done. There are far too many people who do not realize the significance of Whitney Houston and how she literally changed pop music forever.  That’s neither exaggeration nor hyperbole. Whitney. Changed. Music. Period. And I’m about to tell you how. Let’s get the basics out of the way first and list Ms. Houston’s...
